Mario has been repairing my shoes for three years. He's remembered me since the first time I visited his literal whole-in-the-wall shop in San Cristóbal. And while his shoe repairs don't last long (because they consist mainly of glue lathered on thick), but I continue to visit him, not necessarily just for the shoe fixing , but for the interesting person he is. He's 72 years old. What impresses me most is that Mario has continued to love his little shop for four straight decades. That's dedication. Or passion. Whavetever you want to call it.
You can find Mario every morning people-watchingt from his nook in the wall.
